Joining Instructions 

The 2020 UNDP Annual meeting starts on 29 June and ends on 1 July, with one open event on 24 June. 

All sessions are taking place in EST-Eastern Time (New York)

 

Software Requirements
 

  • All of the events will happen on Zoom.

  • We highly recommend joining Zoom meetings and webinars using a computer.

  • Please make sure that you have the most recent version of Zoom. You can download the latest Zoom Client for Meetings here. If you already have Zoom, please check for updates through your app as shown below.

How to join your registered events
 

  • You must register for events through the event registration page.

  • For every event that you have signed up for, you will receive the links to join the sessions by email. Joining links will not be available prior to these emails being sent.
     

Joining a Zoom Webinar 

When you click on the link provided in your email, you may be prompted to enter a password. This password will be available in the same email in which you received your joining link. 

Here are a few best practices in preparation for the 2020 UNDP Annual Meeting:

  • Have a stable internet connection. Depending on your context, you may consider having a back-up connection such as a mobile hotspot.
     

  • Restart your computer before joining your scheduled events. Ensure no other video applications are holding onto audio or video, and shut down any non-essential applications for optimal computer performance.
     

  • Use headphones when participating. This will ensure that you have the clearest audio experience. 


 

Joining a Zoom Meeting 

From the Zoom app 

1. Open the Zoom app on your desktop and start Zoom. 

2. Click on Sign in 

3. After signing in, click on the join button.

 

 

 

 

 

4. Enter the meeting ID obtained from your invitation or registration confirmation email. 

 

Note: Please change your display name to your preferred name before joining. You also have the option to connect your video and audio prior to joining. 

From a Web Browser

1. Open browser. 

2. Go to www.zoom.us

3. Click "Join a Meeting" or click "Sign in" to sign in. 

 

 

 

 

 

4. Enter the meeting ID provided by the organizer in your invitation or registration confirmation email.  

Language Interpretation 

Language interpretation will be available during the Tri-Partite Partnership Meeting for Spanish and English. We will update this section with more information as it becomes available. 

When the meeting or webinar starts, attendees can select an audio channel to hear their language of choice. Attendees will hear the translated audio and can choose if they want to hear the original audio at a lower volume.  

Prerequisites

  • Zoom account created at any plan 

  • Zoom Desktop Client

    • Windows: 4.5.3261.0825 or higher

    • macOS: 4.5.3261.0825 or higher

  • Zoom Mobile App

    • Android: 4.5.3261.0825 or higher

    • iOS: 4.5.0 (3261.0825) or higher

  • Meeting with an automatically generated meeting ID

Note: Contact Zoom Support to have this feature enabled.

Instructions

  1. Join the zoom meeting or webinar. 

  2. Once the host enables interpretation for the meeting, all attendees will be informed in the chat box.

  3. Attendees will then be able to click Interpretation in the meeting options and select a language channel.

4. An interpreter in the channel will hear the original meeting audio which they can translate. Participants in a language channel will hear the translated audio and also the original audio at a lower volume.
